01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled quietly on Seestraße 63 in Stuttgart, Faultier Hafen is a charming café that invites you to slow down and savor moments filled with warmth and flavor. This delightful spot is far from the bustling tourist paths, giving it a serene, almost secret-garden feel that perfectly complements its cozy interior and friendly atmosphere.

At Faultier Hafen, culinary traditions and heartfelt craftsmanship come together beautifully, especially through their exquisite homemade pastries. Fans of Portuguese delights will instantly connect with their nata, a lovingly prepared pastel de Belém-style custard tart. The creamy, flaky delicacy transports you straight to Lisboa with its perfect balance of sweetness and crisp pastry shell—a true testament to the owner’s dedication and skill.

But the offerings don’t stop there. Their matcha cake, a standout treat, has garnered rave reviews for being wonderfully fluffy and vibrantly flavored, a refreshing departure from the often dry or overpowering versions found elsewhere in Europe. Paired with inventive drinks like an ice cream coffee or customizable brews that cater to your personal coffee preferences, each sip and bite at Faultier Hafen feels thoughtfully crafted to delight the senses.

The owner's warmth and attentiveness shine through every interaction, whether you're dropping by to enjoy a relaxing tea or coffee break or using their unique service to send or pick up packages — blending hospitality with practical convenience in one wonderful experience. Customers often praise the café as a hidden gem, a perfect retreat for Asian food enthusiasts and anyone craving a tranquil escape with delicious flavors.

While its location in a quiet residential area might mean a bit of a journey, the payoff is well worth it. Here, you’ll find not just excellent drinks and cakes but also a moment to unwind from the city’s pace, making Faultier Hafen not just a café but a soothing, sensory haven in Stuttgart’s urban landscape.

For anyone eager to discover authentic tastes, genuine kindness, and a cozy ambiance that feels like a haven, Faultier Hafen is a must-visit. Whether you’re stopping in for that perfect matcha slice, a comforting coffee tailored just for you, or a simple moment of calm, this café leaves a lasting impression that’s as heartfelt as the flavors it creates.

As a fan of Pastel de Belém, they have very delicious home made nata like the one I had in Lisboa(need reservation first),and also have very nice drink with other home made cakes. The Cafe is in a very quiet street with very friendly Chef, which you can also delivery your package or pick up them and then have a good tea or coffee with cake as a quick rest.

What a lovely place, it was in bucket list since I saw their matcha cake pics and it’s definitely worth a visit. The owner is very kind and the place is cute even though a bit outside the touristic area. Matcha cake was very good and fluffy, much above the standard of the European ones (usually dry and too much tea-flavored) we are used to. Ice cream coffee very refreshing.

Another hidden gem - a must if you’re an Asian food lover! I had no idea why I never went to this cute cafe and just discovered it now. I honestly went to have their matcha latte (they have a promotion every Friday in this August - poster attached). Well to be fair the location is quite secluded - and far in my opinion - from the bus station. It’s in a residential area - perhaps that’s why it’s so not so well-known. But when you arrive and go inside, it’s a very cute cafe with so many sloth dolls. I get the vibe it’s like chilling in a living room with the sofa and decorations. Yes there’s not many places to sit inside but in this weather, you can sit outside. Nice to hangout with light snacks (or food) and a cup of matcha / coffee / bubble tea On to their food: Of course matcha is a must try for me (I’m a big fan of matcha!) I bought their 30 gr pouch for 15€ (believe me it’s cheap!) and got a free matcha drink to accompany my lunch. Ordered the honeymelon matcha (a bit too sweet for me, but a nice combination nonetheless). I can taste their matcha is of good quality - believe me I drink matcha pure every day! So for that price, it’s a steal! I ordered the Taiwanese pancake, and was surprised that I really like it! Perfect balance of taste, and crunchy! Has lettuce, corn, ham, eggs inside - kinda like jian bing (or maybe it is!). I also ordered matcha latte to go for only 2,2€. So cheap! I like the latte better as I can taste more of the matcha - which I feel has no bitterness. Addition: Even without promotion their matcha drinks is not so expensive and overpriced, so I guess that’s okay. Plus they use not only 1 gr matcha in their drink, so it’s no watery and you can taste real matcha inside. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They speak German, English, and Chinese (I think they are Chinese / Taiwanese - sorry can’t differentiate ). Answered all my questions and also had a pleasant conversation. I will definitely come back - for more food, and more matcha! Now I know where to buy good quality matcha powder that does not break the bank! Today I paid 27€ for a 30 gr pouch, a pancake, and a matcha latte to go! I will let you judge if the price is worth it

The coffee shop environment is really quiet, calm and cozy. It feels homey (far from crowded). The place is not big but it’s okay. Definitely will visit again. Their service is kind and friendly. And the latte tastes good, not too hot (just a warm). For the payment methods, can use debit cards or cash.

Me and my boyfriend came here for a date today, and I must say this was one of the best cafes I’ve ever been to! The staff speaks Chinese, German and English and are super nice and helpful. We had the taro pancakes, litchi soda and brown sugar Oreo milk tea, everything was delicious! They also have different games and activities which were also very fun!
